What happens

You lie on a couch while a clinician uses gel and an ultrasound probe on your abdomen. The scan takes only a few minutes.

Results & next steps

You are told the result immediately. A normal artery generally needs no further scans; an aneurysm leads to specialist follow-up according to its size.
